How to Dial Down Stress for More Ease in Your Neck, Shoulders and Back

Can you measure your level of stress by the height of your shoulders?

For most of us, stress has a direct impact on the comfort of our neck, shoulders and back. While you can’t control the world around you, you can control your response to stress.

In this series, you will:

  • Restore balance in your nervous system to decrease stress, improve sleep and allow you to better meet the demands of your life
  • Learn how to use movement as a way to release stress, as well as your neck, shoulders and back
  • Become aware of habits of holding your breath and tensing muscles, and how to be in control of this so you can enjoy more ease in your body and life

You’ll leave feeling refreshed and have stress-relief tools you can use anywhere to help calm your mind and soothe your body.

This class is primarily done on mats on the floor. Everyone welcome. Mats provided.

Class Meets 5 Tuesdays: April 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30

What People Are Saying…

The movements you taught us with the hands have been so helpful. I use them now when I have trouble falling asleep. I start doing it and then it’s suddenly the next morning! ~ Jill Grundberg

This class is like a kind of meditation. I find it really calming. I walk out feeling more relaxed and mellow. ~ Carl Gardeman

I often feel there are all these layers of stress and I’m not sure how to get beyond the tensing. I feel like you’re teaching us good techniques to address this. I also feel like this class is the cheapest massage in Berkeley! ~Amy Forseth
