Beyond the Core: How to Enact Your Innate Strength (floor)

When you hear phrases like ‘engage your core’ or ‘strengthen your core’ are you left wondering, “What exactly is my core and how do I know if I’m engaging it?”

The concept of ‘the core’ can be useful but there’s also a lot of myths and misunderstandings. Utilizing the support of the large muscles at the center of your body is important. But over-tensing your abdomen hinders efficient, coordinated movement. To enjoy easy, pain-free movement, all parts of you need to work together.

This series will:

  • Demystify ‘the core’ and give you better awareness of your own.
  • Help you use your core in an integrated, dynamic (rather than fixed) way. 
  • Explore the integral connection between strength and breath

This class is primarily done on mats on the floor. Everyone welcome. 

Class Meets for 4 Tuesdays: February 6, 13, 20 & 27

>> Note: At least 3 students must be registered by 9am Monday Feb 5th  for class to run.
